Smart Cards

Smart cards are any card with embedded circuitry. Data transmission occurs via direct contact with a reader or by holding a card or FOB in location of reader. Smart Cards can store information, have PC access, and can have storage of biometric templates. You can integrate Smart Cards into elevator control so only people with proper credentials can get off at certain floors.

Biometrics

Biometrics are fingerprint or retina identification. Biometrics are the newest and most secure of all access controls.

Proximity Cards and Readers (keyless entry)

Proximity Cards and Reader (or Keyless entry) are a more convenient "Contact-less" card or Fob. The Proximity Card only requires close proximity to reader for the transfer of data.

“Combi” proximity cards integrate photo ID, proximity, magnetic stripe and smart card technology into a single card.

Bar Code Access

Bar code access is retail driven; each individual product is given its own code imprinted on a card to be scanned.

Hybrid Smart Cards

Hybrid Smart Cards contain two smart chips: one that is "contact-less" and the other with a contact interface.

Optical Laser Cards

Optical Last Cards transform CD-ROM technology into card form. Optical Laser Cards are capable of storing megabytes of information.
