Fire Alarms Testing
Fire Alarm Testing
Testing your fire alarm system is the responsibility of the owner and a requirement of national and state codes.
Under a written service agreement a qualified service provider can perform the test and inspection for your life-safety system. Chapter 10 of NFPA72 section 10.2.2.5 states the following;
Service personnel shall be qualified and experienced in the inspection, testing,and maintenance of fire alarm systems. Examples of qualified personnel shall be permitted to include, but not limited to, individuals with the following qualifications:
- Factory trained and certified
- National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies fire alarm certified
- International Municipal Signal Association fire alarm certified
- Certified by a state or local authority
- Trained and qualified personnel employed by an organization listed by a national testing laboratory for the servicing of fire alarm systems
IES meets these qualifications and provides these services and can help you comply with your testing requirements.
Our test and inspection of your fire alarm system will include:
- A functional test and inspection of control panels and peripheral field devices
- Cleaning of smoke detectors
- Sensitivity testing of smoke detectors
- Complete and itemized test result documentation
IES technicians are NICET trained and NFPA members.
